On behalf of our client, we seek a Data Engineer to support the maintenance and evolution of the datalake, data warehousing technology and data systems. The role will include building optimal data pipelines for analytics products, ensuring the data flow is scalable, robust and performant.

As part of the mobility industry, our client is a leading expert in driving behaviour analysis, fraud assessments, claims and pricing predictions, eco-driving analysis and mobile applications. Our client continues to process billions of miles of driving data to stay at the forefront of machine learning, analytics and data services.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a hybrid manner, adhering to Group policies. Employees are required to attend eight office days per month in Epsom, Surrey. However, we encourage you to apply for this role if you live anywhere in England.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building data pipelines from the ground up, from various data sources including RDS, S3 and external sources
  • Ensuring data is prepared , formatted and cleaned according to internal requirements
  • Managing large scale batch and streaming data pipelines in AWS environments
  • Maintaining data models in the data warehouse to support the Data Science, Data Analysis and other teams
  • Proactive prepare and deploy improvements to system architecture
  • Assist in ad-hoc queries and investigations

You will be most likely to be successful in this position if you:

  • Have extensive experience with python and PySpark
  • Have extensive experience with PostgreSQL
  • Have experience with AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, etc.)
  • Have experience building modern datalakes and data warehouses
  • Have experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code
  • Have experience with modern software engineering with CI/CD, testing, version control, etc
  • Are proactive and driven, with a keen attitude to learn and grow with the team
  • Enjoy paying attention to details
  • Are a great communicator in a diverse team
