Monthly Roundup - March 2025

As Q1 wraps up, March has been full of momentum at In Check Software. The Effect Days 2025 conference brought powerful new capabilities to the functional TypeScript world—especially around observability—while advances in AI tools continue to improve how developers build and ship software. We’re also excited to be kicking off a number of new client projects across web, e-commerce, and mobile.

🔍 Observability Takes Centre Stage at Effect Days

The Effect Days 2025 conference delivered a clear message: observability is now a core pillar of the Effect ecosystem.

Key improvements include:

  • Structured logging built into the core of the Effect runtime
  • First-class tracing support, making it easier to visualize the flow of asynchronous logic
  • Improved developer experience for debugging complex workflows and handling errors with full context

These changes make it dramatically easier to monitor, debug, and optimize applications—especially in production environments with concurrency and external integrations.

We’ve already started incorporating these features into our own projects and are excited by how much more insight and control they give us when reasoning about system behaviour.

Smarter AI Tools: From Coding to Context Awareness

Beyond the Effect ecosystem, March brought exciting developments in AI-powered developer tools.

One standout feature we’ve embraced is Notepads in Cursor, which allow our team to save and reuse code snippets, API contracts, architectural decisions, and internal documentation—all directly within the IDE. This helps reduce context switching and gives new contributors a faster path to productive work.

More broadly, we’re seeing AI assistants become more context-aware and useful across multiple areas of development:

  • Writing and debugging code
  • Generating test coverage
  • Auto-documenting logic and service layers
  • Summarizing pull requests and diffs

These enhancements are helping our teams move faster and stay more focused—particularly on large, multi-repo systems.

New Client Projects: Web, Mobile & E-commerce

We’re pleased to announce a number of new client partnerships this month, with projects that span:

  • E-commerce platforms with modern checkout flows, CMS integrations, and analytics dashboards
  • Mobile apps designed for both enterprise workflows and consumer use, built with cross-platform speed and native responsiveness
  • Company websites that reflect brand values while delivering fast, accessible experiences on every device

These projects highlight the growing demand for teams that can combine solid engineering foundations with fast-moving design and delivery.

We’re excited about where these industry shifts are heading—and proud to be helping shape them through our work. If you're interested in building with Effect, using AI to accelerate your workflow, or launching a new digital product, we’d love to talk.

Let’s build what’s next.
